ABSTRACT
AIMS: This investigation is to learn about typical injuries in sports and to differentiate between an injury and another, this topic is important to my professional future because I will to treat a lot of them as physiotherapist. I will to investigate about which are the most common injuries in sports and their causes, treatment and prevention.
METHODS: A group of one hundred sportsmen was polled about types of injuries that they have suffered in their sport life to see the most common injuries. People had to answer in a list of fifteen injuries, with "yes" or "not" have suffered any of them. Injuries with a percent over of the fifty percent were classified like common injuries.
RESULTS: In this study I saw the injuries that more sportmen have suffered. The most typical injury is the sprain with a eighty percent, after the contracture with a seventy five percent, after the muscle tear with a seventy two percent, after the fracture with a sixty four percent and finally the dislocation with a fifty nine percent. People who were polled, were advised about how to prevent another injuries in their future.
CONCLUSIONS: A important number of sportsmen have been injured in this sport life. If they will use a better equipment, will do a effective warm-up, will stop an activity at the first sign of fatigue, they might prevent sports related injuries. Is key in prevention, take care of our physical conditon.
